About The Position

The Quality Intern position will support Quality through continuous improvement initiatives, Quality Management System (QMS) activities, calibration management, data analysis, and daily quality operations. This role provides hands-on experience in manufacturing quality, process improvement, problem solving, quality system administration, and calibration management while contributing to key departmental objectives.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or agriculture engineering or industrial technology or related field, required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing and engineering documents.
  • Must be team oriented and possess strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel).
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes required, including fabrication, weld and assembly.
  • Must be results oriented, energetic, proactive, and a team player.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to effectively decompose a costing to identify the root cause(s) of costs and to present information succinctly for discussion with senior management.
  • When working with less than perfect information, the ability to make appropriate assumptions and backup the assumptions with data.

Nice To Haves

  • Formalized training or experience in "design for manufacturing" preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop, implement, and improve processes that support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Lead the implementation and management of the calibration management system within Limble ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and NLM standards.
  • Observe and document production processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Data collection for problem solving and new process development.
  • Provide technical assistance for the creation, maintenance and execution of the quality management system.
  • Assist with developing fabrication machine process capabilities by utilizing statistical analysis.
  • Work with cross-functional team members, providing engineering support to resolve quality problems using the PDCA cycle.
  • Analyze top quality issues and engineer a solution to drive quality issues to obtain zero defects.
  • Develops, prepares and reviews reports on quality performance such as FPY, scrap, rework and warranty claims.
  • Assist with the part qualification process for both purchased and fabricated components.
  • Demonstrates a good attendance record; is aware of the impact that missing work will have on the customer as well as co-workers.
