About The Position

This internship focuses on key projects within Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. The intern will be involved in FMEA review and linkage, document management, and process audits. This role requires a self-directed individual enrolled in an accredited university/college program, pursuing a degree in Quality/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The intern will work with the QE & ME team to align DFMEA/PFMEA and Control Plan documents, link and load APQP documents into the AIAG CTS system, map out production floor areas and equipment, identify and verify work instructions, scrub Visio flowcharts, and obsolete documents. Additionally, the intern will audit key manufacturing processes against standard work and ensure Special Characteristics from DFMEA/PFMEA are cascaded to work instructions.

Requirements

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
Familiarity with Microsoft's Power Automate tools and/or Microsoft Forms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed and able to work without supervision
Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program
Majors: Quality/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent
GPA of 3.0 or higher

Responsibilities

Work with QE & ME team to align DFMEA / PFMEA and Control plan documents with current AIAG/VDA parameters, specifically evaluating and aligning Detection and Occurrence rankings and ensuring consistency amongst operations.
Link and load APQP documents into the AIAG CTS system.
Map out Production Floor key areas and equipment.
Identify Key Work Instruction for each work station, verify revision level, update DMS with # of controlled copies, and meet with CFT and update last review date.
Scrub Visio flowcharts of incorrect work instruction references.
Obsolete documents no longer in use.
Audit key manufacturing processes against standard work.
Work with QE/ME team to make necessary updates.
Ensure Special Characteristics from DFMEA/PFMEA are cascaded to work instructions.
