About The Position

OGS Machining is a medium-volume, production job shop seeking a full-time Quality Inspector for their OGS Machining location. The role ensures customer satisfaction through compliance with internal and external customer-imposed quality control requirements. The company primarily works with CNC turning equipment, with an average machining order size of 100-500 pieces. Most jobs are made from bar stock, with the remainder being machining castings or billet. All parts are small enough to be held in hand, eliminating the need for cranes or material handling equipment. The majority of their CNC turning equipment is less than 4 years old and state-of-the-art.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• A minimum of five (5) years Quality Control/Assurance Inspection experience is required.
• Basic understanding of precision machining operations (milling and turning machines).
• Drawing interpretation including GD&T.
• Knowledge of non-destructive and destructive testing and measuring techniques.
• Knowledgeable in the applications and requirements of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF14949.

Nice To Haves

• Helpful if qualified candidate would be able to operate manual CMM and Optical Comparator.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow OGS quality system requirements.
• Review and understand customer requirements.
• Provide documentation and results during Receiving, Layout, In-process, and Final Inspection.
• Document SPC as needed to support quality efforts.
• Follow Inspection Plan Documents (IPDs) that provide a basis for making quality decisions in accordance with customer requirements and OGS procedures.
• Use approved gauging and measurement techniques.
• Properly use inspection equipment, product inspection techniques, system software, and follow established OGS quality system procedures, and work instructions.
• Perform calibration activities and maintain calibration system as required.
