About The Position

This job is temporary for a 6-12 month period. Accord Federal Services, LLC is a veteran owned government contracting firm located in Knoxville, TN. Our core area of business is facility management and maintenance of federal government properties. We have been in operation for over thirteen years and have existing contracts at locations across the country. The Mechanic position involves analyzing malfunctions and repairing/maintaining MHE equipment. Responsibilities include operating and inspecting machines to diagnose defects, dismantling and reassembling equipment, examining parts for damage or wear, replacing defective parts, and testing equipment for operating efficiency. The role also includes performing limited welding of metal components, fabricating or repairing products using brazing and various welding equipment, and performing related tasks like thermal cutting and grinding. Additionally, the mechanic will conduct Technical, Acceptance, Final, and Classification inspections on major assemblies and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years experience in automotive/heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Regulations.
  • Use of TMDE Test Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment.
  • Understanding of Corrosion Prevention, lock out/tag out.
  • Ability to use a computer and complete paperwork.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • US nationality/citizenship and residence.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Clean background check dating back 7 years.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must participate in the company random drug test program.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze malfunctions and repair, maintain MHE equipment.
  • Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear.
  • Replace defective parts and test equipment to insure operating efficiency.
  • Perform limited welding of metal components together to fabricate or repair products using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
  • Weld metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.
  • Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes and increase size of metal parts.
  • Position and clamp together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Perform Technical, Acceptance, Final, and Classification inspections on major assemblies to analyze malfunctions to repair and maintain heavy equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
