About The Position

This job is temporary for a 6-12 month period. Accord Federal Services, LLC is a veteran owned government contracting firm located in Knoxville, TN. Our core area of business is facility management and maintenance of federal government properties. We have been in operation for over thirteen years and have existing contracts at locations across the country. Mechanic – Rock Island Arsenal-Position Summary Analyze malfunctions and repair, maintain MHE equipment. Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examine parts for damage or excessive wear, replace defective parts and test equipment to insure operating efficiency. Performs limited welding of metal components together to fabricate or repair products using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. Perform Technical, Acceptance, Final, and Classification inspections on major assemblies to analyze malfunctions to repair and maintain heavy equipment. Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, examine parts for damage or excessive wear, and test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years experience in automotive/heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Regulations.
  • Use of TMDE Test Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment.
  • Understanding of Corrosion Prevention, lock out/tag out.
  • Ability to use a computer and complete paperwork.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • US nationality/citizenship and residence.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Clean background check dating back 7 years.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must participate in the company random drug test program.
