About The Position

Solid State Devices, Inc. (SSDI) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join their team. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing mechanical, receiving, and in-process inspections to ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and reputation of SSDI's high Density, High Performance, and High Reliability Products for Aerospace & Defense. SSDI has been a pioneer in semiconductor manufacturing for over 50 years and has earned a reputation for setting the highest standards of reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using computer software for documentation and reporting.
  • Must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment Background and Drug Screen.
  • Signing an Employee Creation Assignment & Non-Disclosure upon employment.
  • Abiding by all rules, regulations, and performance standards of Solid State Devices, Inc. upon employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections of electrical and mechanical components and assemblies using various measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, microscopes, micrometers, gauges, and optical).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to determine inspection criteria.
  • Identify and document non-conformances, and work with the engineering and production teams to resolve issues.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and products to ensure they meet specified quality standards and purchase order requirements.
  • Verify supplier documentation, such as certificates of compliance and material test reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and create detailed reports on the quality of received goods.
  • Perform in-process inspections on production lines to ensure products meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor production processes for compliance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address quality issues promptly.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain inspection records.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting any areas of concern and suggesting improvements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback for process enhancements.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in quality inspection.
