The Quality Inspector is responsible for reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models, rigorously applying GD&T principles to determine part compliance. This role involves performing source inspections, First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final product evaluations. The inspector will document defects and non-conformances accurately in the ERP/QMS system, prepare inspection reports, and maintain files of inspection documents. Understanding basic weld inspection techniques, weld symbols, and common welding defects is also required. The position involves maintaining inspection and measuring equipment, performing other work-related tasks as assigned, and complying with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Additionally, the role requires ensuring the proper use of measuring tools and equipment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining accurate inspection records and reports, and communicating with production and engineering teams. Facility/Group specific responsibilities include passing the J2 Color and Acuity eye test, monitoring and recording relevant information during testing of equipment, and performing mechanical inspections on components using traditional and/or electronic tools. The inspector will also perform in-process inspections and record measurements and other relevant information concerning capital equipment of completed assemblies.
