About The Position

The Quality Inspector will primarily be responsible for overseeing real-time inspection and auditing activities on the production floor to ensure compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and the company’s Quality Management System. This role serves as a quality ambassador within the plant, driving quality assurance best practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 – 3 years of quality inspection experience, preferred in a plastics manufacturing environment (i.e. injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform in-line audits and inspections of plastic components, ensuring adherence to visual appearance, dimensional and functional quality standards.
  • Review and validate first-article inspections, set-up approvals, and line clearances.
  • Identify and escalate defects and reoccurring defects within the product, branding and packaging.
  • Support root cause analysis, problem solving techniques and corrective / preventive actions.
  • Ability to communicate and interpret quality documentation, such as work instructions, product specifications and safety rules.
  • Support and facilitate consistent application of inspection criteria within the quality department.
  • Lead internal audits of production processes, packaging, labeling, traceability and documentation as part of QMS requirements.
  • Serve as liaison between production and quality departments, facilitating effective communication on quality-related matters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and organization.
  • May be required to perform additional tasks within the scope of the role to meet business needs, provided such tasks are consistent with the employee’s skills and training.
