About The Position

As a Quality Inspector in our steel manufacturing plant, you will be an essential part of our commitment to delivering high-quality steel products to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality control procedures. By meticulously examining every aspect of our steel production process, you will help identify and rectify any deviations, defects, or non-conformities, ensuring that only top-tier products leave our facility.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, metallurgy, and quality control principles.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and specifications (e.g., ASTM, ASME, AISI).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to detect subtle defects or deviations in steel products through visual inspection and measurement techniques.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and testing results to assess product quality and conformance.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey inspection findings, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and document quality-related information accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving quality issues and implementing preventive measures.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor various stages of the manufacturing process to identify any deviations from established quality standards.
  • Perform comprehensive inspections on finished steel products to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Identify and document any defects, flaws, or imperfections in the steel products, utilizing visual inspections, precision measurement tools, and specialized testing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test reports, and quality documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality management systems.
  • Work closely with production and quality control team members to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve processes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while performing inspections and working in the steel manufacturing environment, promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
