About The Position

The Quality Inspector is accountable for the inspection of all products and raw materials, under the direction of the Quality Manager. This role involves using a variety of measuring instruments to check dimensions, record results, and perform necessary mathematical computations to determine nonconformance. The inspector must follow proper procedures, ensure Work Instructions are followed, and maintain inspection equipment. Support and promotion of continuous improvement activities are also key aspects of this role. The position requires maintaining an inspection stamp and managing multiple competing priorities. Flexibility around shifts, including overtime for training and workflow maintenance, is necessary. Experience with DQR/SQA is preferred, and compliance with OSHA, health, safety, and environmental requirements is mandatory. Tasks not specifically listed may be assigned to support department objectives and skill development.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or Equivalent degree required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail requiring thoroughness of completing work tasks.
  • Superior integrity at all times.
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation skills.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible to changing work environment and assignments.
  • Demonstrated dependability in fulfilling obligations.
  • Demonstrated initiative to willingly take on responsibilities and challenges.
  • Proficient analytical thinking requiring analysis of information and use of logic to address issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various Manufacturing ERPs (Job Boss, Unipoint).
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years inspection experience preferred (non-aerospace acceptable).
  • DQR / SQA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of all products and raw materials.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments where work instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results.
  • Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions.
  • Make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
  • Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of measuring equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement activities to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain Inspection stamp.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime.
  • Comply with OSHA, health, safety and environment requirements.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.
