About The Position

The Quality Inspector, or QA Inspector, duties include checking production units to ensure they are built to customer requirements and built to company quality expectations. The QA Inspector would also need to measure and inspect Purchased and Manufactured parts to identify defects and be sure they meet Engineering drawing specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, at least 18 years of age

  • Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, documents, and manuals
  • Knowledge of basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Establish and promote quality standards for products provided to and produced by Federal Industries
  • Read blueprints and specifications to ensure that products meet quality standards
  • Recommend any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and finished good inspections
  • Use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products
  • Contain supplied and WIP products that don’t meet production standards and recommend strategies to improve product quality
  • Accept or reject finished products and discuss inspection results with the production team
  • Process nonconformance tickets, Discrepant Material Reports, and Returned Material Authorizations via Kinetic ERP
  • Work with production supervisors on improving/updating quality control measures, internal quality procedures, and product excellence
  • Summarize and publish daily inspection reports and monthly quality/audit metrics
  • Work on projects related to improving quality and operations
  • Other duties as assigned
