Position Summary: AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Hanahan, SC that is a leading global aerospace company and top U.S. exporter, customer develops, manufactures and services commercial airplanes, defense products and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is typically the minimum requirement.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments: Calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc. are routinely used to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications: Essential for comparing received items against design requirements.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook): Essential for documentation, report generation, and communication.
  • Strong attention to detail: A critical requirement for meticulous examination of materials and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience, 2-4 years, in quality inspection, especially in manufacturing or related environments like aerospace, is highly valued.
  • Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI): Ensuring initial production runs meet specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and specifications: Understanding industry guidelines (like AS9100 in aerospace) and internal company standards.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles: Can be beneficial for process improvement.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) (e.g., SAP, Oracle): Used for managing inventory, tracking orders, and documenting inspection results.
  • Experience using quality management software (e.g., TIPQA): For managing inspection processes and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: To identify root causes of defects, analyze inspection data, and recommend corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements.
  • Provides objective evidence of results. Performs auditing, surveillance and monitoring.
  • Identifies and documents discrepancies.
  • Segregates and controls non-conforming items.
  • Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification.
  • Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action.
