About The Position

Inspect materials and finished products through the use of measuring devices, methods and/or visual specifications or criteria. This position has a significant impact on customer satisfaction for adherence to quality specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure, calipers and other measuring tools as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and working within an ERP system.
  • Ability read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Must be able to visually inspect parts for defects.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action.
  • Ability to communicate with personnel at all levels within the organization.

  • Previous inspection work preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect components and finished product on all product lines for conformance to specification.
  • Inspect vendor supplied material per specifications.
  • Create FAI documents and work with vendors regarding their submissions.
  • Perform product testing for all product lines as required.
  • Non-conform product as needed.
  • Perform/Analyze microscopic testing of painted products and report findings.
  • Report & Root Cause Analyze any defects to QA Manager/QA Supervisor/QA Lead, Purchasing, & Operations.
  • Calibrate instruments and machinery per calibration log.
  • Arrange for outside calibration/repair/replacement of instruments with ERP system, Purchasing, and vendors.
  • Audit processes to specified work instructions.
  • Inspect and document returned goods.
  • Assists with validation of corrective actions as required.
  • Back-up to other QA specialists as training allows.
  • Any special assignments as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
