About The Position

Under general supervision, inspect and test purchased materials in accordance with established inspection procedures and engineering documentation. This role involves visually, mechanically, and electrically inspecting and testing materials, performing electrical and mechanical tests from drawings and electronic diagrams, and accurately documenting inspection information. The Quality Inspector will also generate Material Rejection Notices (MRNs) for non-conforming material, perform material transactions using SAP, resolve component problems in production and warehouse, and perform First Article Inspections on new custom parts as needed. Maintaining component files, including Inspection Checklists and the latest drawing revisions, is also a key responsibility. The role requires a positive attitude towards the company and its goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years minimum experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Environment or basic training in Electronics (Vo-Tech or higher learning center).
  • Must have ability to understand and distinguish between different electronic component types.
  • Must be able to perform accurate dimensional measurements using various tools, e.g. calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to ask questions when necessary.
  • Must have some mechanical skills.
  • PC literacy a plus

Responsibilities

  • Utilize established processes and written procedures to inspect and test purchased materials in accordance with applicable engineering documentation and special inspection instructions.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical tests from drawings and electronic diagrams using various types of mechanical and test equipment.
  • Accurately document information of all inspections on the appropriate QA reporting forms, including Inspection Checklists and First Article VTIR (Vendor Tooling Inspection Reports) Forms.
  • Generate MRN (Material Rejection Notice) for non-conforming material.
  • Perform material transaction using SAP.
  • Resolve component problems when they arise in production and warehouse.
  • Performs First Article Inspections on new custom parts (on an as needed basis) prior to being released for use in production.
  • Maintain component files including Inspection Checklists and the latest drawing revisions.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude towards the company and its goals at all times.
