About The Position

Walden’s Machine, founded in 1976 and acquired by Primus in 2006 and then by PCC in 2011, is a 24-hour facility with 340 employees, specializing in high-speed machining, kitting, assembly, integration, decorative coatings, airfoil/propulsion structures, and global supply chain management. The company serves major customers like Boeing, Bombardier, Spirit Aerosystems, Bell Helicopter, Airbus, and GE Aviation, and holds IS0 9001 and AS9100 Revision C certifications. The Level One Quality Inspector role involves training to inspect products such as machined parts, mechanical assemblies, processed parts, and hardware according to predetermined methods and specifications. This includes verifying part identification and configurations, organizing inspection queues, and identifying/segregating non-conforming product using basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME 14.5 and common inspection tools. The role requires blueprint reading, basic math skills, basic PC skills (Microsoft Office), and the ability to learn MRP/ERP systems. This is typically a 0-1 year experience level position.

Requirements

  • Basic proficiency in shop math and GD&T comprehension and application.
  • Basic print reading and application.
  • A familiarity with a wide range of inspection tools and processes.
  • Basic computer and software literacy. (MS Suite, File Navigation)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • With assistance, perform in process and completed inspections for machined, purchased or assembled product.
  • Organize incoming inspection work by identifying work priority.
  • Identify and separate non-conforming product from conforming product.
