About The Position

This role will be responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet all company, industry, and safety standards before they reach customers. They monitor production processes, examine materials, and test finished goods using precision measuring tools to identify defects or non-compliance. The ideal candidate possesses an analytical mindset, strict attention to detail, and a foundational understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-3 years working experience in a medical manufacturing environment.
  • Inspection/testing experience.
  • Analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-starter able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Near vision: ability to see very fine imperfections and surface flaws in products.
  • Good math skills; adding/subtracting, whole numbers/fractions, decimals, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of SPC and CPK requirements.
  • Computer experience working with ERP systems.
  • Able to read and understand Work Instructions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inspection, measurement, and documentation activities.
  • Basic proficiency in the use of measurement and inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometer, Keyence systems, and SmartScope measuring devices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and component submissions simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams and documenting results.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Time management skills to meet deadlines and support production and customer requirements.
  • Understanding quality inspection processes and documentation requirements such as FAI, inspection reports, and quality records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components and products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Use measurement and test equipment, including calipers, micrometer, Keyence systems, and Smart Scope machines, to verify product conformity.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections as required by inspection plans and procedures.
  • Identify and document nonconforming materials and products.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, and quality documentation.
  • Complete First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, inspection reports, and nonconformance reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all quality records are properly documented, reviewed, and retained according to company procedures.
  • Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established quality requirements.
  • Assist in identifying quality issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects and improving product quality.
  • Participate in quality audits, investigations, and process evaluations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures while performing inspection and testing activities.
  • Support compliance with industry standards, quality management systems, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Communicate inspection results, nonconformances, and quality concerns effectively to stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide support during quality reviews and customer audits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely disposition of nonconforming materials and continuous improvement of quality processes.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the supervisor.
