Quality Inspector STE
About The Position
The Quality Inspector will perform First-Piece, In-Process, and Final Inspections following EIMCo production demands. This role involves calibrating tools and inspection equipment, training employees on equipment usage, and assisting with blueprint and customer-quality document interpretation. The inspector will investigate and troubleshoot quality issues, operate and program CMM equipment, and interpret quality standards. Accurate record-keeping of inspections in the ERP system and on Shop Travelers is essential. The position requires adherence to all EIMCo documentation, reporting problems to management, conducting 1st article inspections and PPAP's, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment. Maintaining a clean work area, complying with 5S procedures, and adhering to all safety policies, including PPE requirements, are also key responsibilities. The role may involve other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Mechanical skills background required.
- Ability to routinely bend and squat.
- Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders and platforms.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to repetitively grasp.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must pass a 10-panel drug screening, including marijuana.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.
- Formal education or experience may be substituted with training when competency in the position is demonstrated.
Responsibilities
- Perform First-Piece, In-Process, and Final Inspections following EIMCo production demands.
- Calibrate tools and other inspection equipment and document results.
- Train and instruct employees on using and caring for quality inspection equipment.
- Assist employees in the interpretation of blueprints and customer-quality documents.
- Investigate and assist in troubleshooting quality issues and concerns.
- Operate and program CMM equipment.
- Interpret and reference national and customer quality standards and requirements.
- Complete accurate daily records (date, times, quantities of parts, and scrap) for every job inspected on Shop Travelers and in the ERP system.
- Follow instructions from all EIMCo documentation, including Ship Traveler, Inspection Sheets, and blueprints.
- Inform the Quality Control Manager and shift supervisor/lead person of any problems or concerns with parts.
- Conducts 1st article inspections and PPAP's per the customer's requirements.
- Accept responsibility for the quality of products/services provided and perform all required inspections under the EIMCo Quality Manual.
- Perform required preventative maintenance on equipment, watch and listen for abnormal conditions, and immediately report any concerns to maintenance and/or shift supervisor/lead.
- Maintain the assigned work area clean and orderly and comply with all 5S procedures.
- Safely conduct all tasks and behaviors and comply with all EICMo Safety Policies, including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, as outlined in the EIMCo Safety Manual.
- Maintain all required documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
