Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Demonstrated competency at Inspector level or mechanical aptitude and /or related quality experience.
  • Knowledge of quality systems/policies
  • Candidate must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check and be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Exemptions to the Canadian government to grant temporary residents/international students access to their export controlled goods is required and takes a minimum of 2 months from offer acceptance for processing. This may delay start dates for candidates on temporary work permits.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately inspect a variety of parts and/or purchased material dimensionally and/or visually, including non-destructive testing methods to prescribed quality standards and procedures.
  • Be proficient in the use of standard measuring gauge tools including mechanical, pneumatic, optical and electrical devices.
  • Follow inspection protocols as prescribed in applicable quality procedures.
  • Be proficient in performance of concurring inspection demands using skill and judgment to take assigned work to completion.
  • Read and interpret production prints, and other written instructions necessary to perform assigned work.
  • Perform several different inspection operations requiring skill, judgment and/or interpretation, including final visual.
  • Be able to make setups or adjustments on various standard gauges or equipment.
  • Record routine data and count parts as directed.
  • Training new employees and other inspectors/operators as required.
  • Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas.
  • Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and required certificate(s).
