About The Position

The QC In-line Inspector has a primary responsibility to examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specification. Must strictly follow quality standards and meet daily, weekly production goals. This role is non-exempt/hourly and reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor. The pay range is $22.00 - $28.00/hour with a 10% differential for swing shift, based on qualifications and experience. Vishay Applied Thin Film Products is located in Fremont, CA.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance inspection is required
  • Ability to read and understand procedures and work instructions
  • Good computer skills and data entry experience
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Technical knowledge of basic inspection tools and equipment like calipers, micrometers, various gauges, and low- and high- powered microscopes, bonding machines, etc.
  • Proficient in English. Must have basic English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good manual dexterity as will be handling precise small fragile components under a microscope using tweezers and probes
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant change
  • Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently
  • Good problem solving and multi-tasking abilities required

Nice To Haves

  • MIC Hybrid circuit inspection experience or MIC assembly a plus
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and other safety procedures is preferred
  • Prior experience working for ISO 9000 certified company is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing in-process, final visual inspection of raw, metalized and patterned ceramic substrates using stereo zoom and high-power microscopes, micrometers, calipers, various gauges and other inspection tools
  • Reading diagrams and specifications
  • Measuring products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
  • Accepting or rejecting finished products
  • Strictly following quality standards and meeting daily, weekly production goals
  • Discussing inspection results with those responsible for the products
  • Interpreting inspection data according to inspection standards
  • Reporting inspection and test data
  • Providing some basic training and support to new QA team members
  • May be required to perform other duties
