We are looking for 3rd shift 1030pm-630am, (3rd shift premium $2.50/hour) Under the general supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector supervises the inspection of incoming materials, work-in-progress and finished products to meet specifications and quality standards. Identifies and informs superior of area problems and possible solutions.

Requirements

  • Quality certification or training in Quality requirements and SPC, or 2 to 5 years’ experience in Quality Management
  • Knowledge of Principles and practices of Quality Management and SPC.
  • Knowledge of Use of all tools and equipment used in quality control.
  • Skills in developing and maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Skills in effective use of time and materials to ensure quality parts to the customer on time
  • Skills in analyzing and independently solving process problems
  • Skills in interpersonal communications verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of people
  • Skills in maintaining effective business relations with other departments and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in start-up at beginning of shifts
  • Assist in new part start-up and check out
  • Manage weld verification (cut/etch)
  • Available as needed
  • Address new product needs and requirements
  • Perform first part approvals and ISIRs
  • Assist in solving customer quality issues
  • Perform statistical analysis as required (process capability, R&R)
  • Determine suitability of quality tools for inspection of part features
  • Purchase Quality Tooling
  • Determine proper use of Quality Tooling
  • Manage condition of Quality Tooling to ensure functionality
  • Maintain documentation on Quality Tooling
  • Participate in “New Project Reviews”
  • Determine inspection requirements for new parts
  • Understand critical part features
  • Understand end use of product
  • Offer suggestions for revision to tolerances/material
  • Determine inspection tool use for new projects
  • Specify tooling for new projects
  • Design and acquire tooling for new projects
  • Certify and calibrate tooling for new projects
  • Perform full inspection layout and document results for First Article Approval (ISIR) and Documentation
  • Designate a part master sample
  • Send sample part(s) to customer with applicable documentation and notify Product Manager
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding samples, data
  • Issue customer approval document when customer approves, notifying Product Manager, VP Engineering and Quality Assurance (places document in part master file)
  • Ensure floor part drawings are current revision level
  • Ensure quality documents are updated as part drawings are revised
