About The Position

NABRICO Marine Products is searching for a Quality Inspector in their Ashland City, TN barge manufacturing plant. NABRICO Marine Products, part of NABRICO’s Inland Barge Group, is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. They manufacture dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, for transporting various products like grain, coal, and aggregates. NABRICO Marine Products also manufactures tank barges for petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, NABRICO Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

Requirements

• Computer skills and basic understanding of MS Office Products, moderate in Word and Excel is required.
• May require working in narrow or confined workspaces for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights.
• Basic knowledge of the use of measuring equipment.
• Ability to understand and apply inspection methods and techniques.
• May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking and/or standing for long periods of time.
• Willing to work overtime, on weekends and on holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Make visual/measured inspection/tests of fit and welds to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements.
• Complete inspection records and reports and follow appropriate codes and regulations.
• Make visual and measured inspection of products to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements for manufacturing.
• May inspect incoming raw materials for the manufacturing process.
• Follow appropriate procedures for testing raw materials
