About the Role Lakeland Manufacturing is seeking a Quality Inspector to support product quality and production performance through hands-on inspection and verification activities. This role is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, final, and first article inspections, ensuring all components meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards. You’ll play a key role in identifying issues early, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting a disciplined, high-performing manufacturing environment. Location: Alexandria, MN Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Targeted Compensation Range: $21-24/hour depending on experience

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred
  • Experience in machining or metal fabrication environments is strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection methods
  • Strong attention to detail and process discipline
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical training or certification in quality or manufacturing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, final, and first article inspections (FAI)
  • Verify dimensional, visual, and functional requirements against drawings and specifications
  • Operate precision tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore/thread gauges, Trimos systems, and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
  • Ensure proper handling and care of inspection equipment
  • Accurately record inspection results in check sheets and systems
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation aligned with QMS requirements
  • Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) and customer reporting as needed
  • Identify nonconforming material and support containment procedures
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Follow ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
