About The Position
Leidos’ Defense Sector is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in Huntsville, AL! Leidos Defense Systems Sector / Manufacturing provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Requirements
- Candidate must possess a High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience.
- Must have experience in leading operations or teams in completing tasks.
- Must be able to solve complex problems, relate with other team’s members, and communicate with other levels of management.
- Must have knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings.
- Must have knowledge of how to efficiently use micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers etc.
- Must have IPC certification or 3 years of relative electrical inspection.
- Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
- Candidate must be able to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
- Candidates must have Computer Skills and can use computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
- Applicants must be able to work full-time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow.
- Must be willing to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Government contract and SOW interpretation.
- Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations.
- Previous auditing experience.
Responsibilities
- Inspect component and assembled parts.
- Must be able to read and understand assembly instructions.
- Read and understand Drawings and Technical data packages.
- Preform Internal AS9100 audits.
- Write Non-conformance and start investigation to root cause.
- Lead or participate in 5S activities.
- Instruct technicians on proper installation assembly and techniques.
