Quality Inspector - Night Shift

About The Position

The Quality Inspector performs in-process and final inspections and evaluates parts against prints and specifications. The role requires understanding inspection methods and supporting manufacturing processes and personnel while adhering to the Quality Policy and AS 9100 requirements. The position reports to the Quality Manager and receives daily direction from shift Lead personnel. This is a Monday–Friday night-shift position with a 20% shift differential.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience reading blueprints and GD&T; aerospace experience preferred.
At least 5 years of inspection gauging and visual inspection experience; aerospace experience preferred.
At least 5 years of manufacturing experience, including understanding document control and job operations.
Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for documenting inspection results.
General computer knowledge.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Pass a written exam covering the stated requirements.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of experience with coordinate measuring machines or systems.
Aerospace experience in blueprint and GD&T reading.
Aerospace experience in inspection gauging and visual inspection.

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) requirements.
Comply with customer specifications and requirements.
Use inspection gauges such as micrometers, test indicators, a Faro Arm, and an optical comparator.
Inspect with CMM machines and coordinate systems.
Complete in-process and final inspections as required.
Make mold castings and interpret results using an optical comparator.
Perform visual inspections for defects and UVCs.
Complete required paperwork, including inspection reports, and review CMM reports.
