About The Position
Performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality assurance of manufactured product to ensure compliance with product specifications. This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer literate, some training will be available.
- Ability to use scanner and copier.
Responsibilities
- Inspects pipes for defects such as blowholes, cracks, and rough spots.
- Weighs and counts pipes, and records inspection data on standard form.
- Communicate with supervisors of quality defect.
- Perform calibration of gauges.
- Suggests changes in use of equipment to increase efficiency of process.
