About The Position

The Quality Inspector will use precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to verify product dimensions, tolerances, and performance. This role involves reading blueprints and instructions to understand quality expectations, conducting inspections on raw materials, components, and finished products, and approving finished products by confirming specifications. The inspector will record inspection results, summarize reworks, and input data into the quality database. They will also collaborate with production personnel to address quality issues, propose process improvements, and perform regular audits to ensure equipment functionality and compliance. A key part of this role is investigating root causes of non-conformances and implementing corrective actions, as well as providing feedback to production teams to enhance their understanding of quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience or certifications combined
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and product drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality work
  • Physical stamina for prolonged standing, bending, and lifting
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills
  • Commitment to safety, including adherence to protocols and OSHA regulations
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changes
  • Maintenance of equipment and tools
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and hardware
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and make quick decisions
  • Understanding of quality control processes and dedication to producing high-quality products
  • Ability to use analytical skills to effectively solve problems within the various work areas across the plant
  • Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
  • Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computers
  • In-depth understanding of company standards, documentation process and reporting functions
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. on a consistent basis and periodically up to 50lbs with assist.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for up to 10 hours
  • May be required to be flexible in tight spaces, bending, stooping and kneeling on floors during periods of production
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are small

Responsibilities

  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and initiating rework when necessary

  • Summarize quality findings and communicate them to relevant stakeholders
  • Train production teams on quality control measures to enhance product excellence
  • Collaborate with production personnel to promptly address identified quality issues
  • Propose improvements to production processes
  • Perform regular audits to ensure proper equipment functionality and compliance
  • Monitor equipment usage to ensure safety and discard any non-compliant items
  • Keep measurement tools operating accurately by following calibration requirements and arranging for repairs
  • Investigate root causes of non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions, reporting findings to necessary stakeholders
  • Provide feedback to production teams to enhance their understanding of quality requirements
  • Ensure assembly or production lines adhere to standards, procedures, and legal requirements
