We are looking for a Quality Inspector Receiving & Final Inspection to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. The Norridge location of NSI is a progressive manufacturer of die castings that has been in business for 60+ years, and we look forward to having you join our team! Please note, this is a full-time, 1st shift position (7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday). General Summary Accountable for conducting work-in-progress, incoming and final product inspections as well as preparing documentation of final product and assisting with rework.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • 3-5 years quality control experience
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform both visual and dimensional quality checks as required by the router using measuring equipment (gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Keep all material segregated between checks
  • Report any issues with part quality, rates, or process and machine
  • Verify calibration due date on all measuring equipment and report expired items to quality department
  • Stop a job when non-conformances are suspected and follow instructions on NCMR, rework material and enter in the database upon completion
  • Sort/GP-12 parts
  • Inspect parts per control chart and record findings
  • Inspect material received for outside processing and customer supplied product
  • Scale parts and report any issues with equipment or process
  • Package material according to the routing sheet
  • Move material when operation is complete
  • Report any discrepancies to Production Manager
  • Fill out routing sheet, enter in database, and report any issues
  • Label product when required
  • Clean work area at the end of the day or when a job is complete
  • Mop floor when scheduled
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
