About The Position

This role involves performing quality inspections using various instruments and gages, ensuring their proper care and accuracy. The inspector will be responsible for checking first pieces, maintaining inspection records, and recommending quality improvements. Key tasks include inspecting parts, subassemblies, and assemblies, verifying documentation, and assisting with gage control. The position also requires maintaining a clean and FOD-free workspace and attending training as directed.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
One to three years’ experience in QA Inspections- Aerospace Industry or Machine Shop environment.
Defense Industry experience required.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with respect to dimensioning and tolerancing.
Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, linear scales), Gages (e.g., pins, thread, custom gages), Optical tools (e.g., comparators, profiles, microscopes).
Experience with Electronic measuring equipment (e.g., CMM, Profilometer, Elcometer – Coating Thickness).

Responsibilities

Uses instruments and gages properly, ensures proper care, maintenance, and accuracy.
Checks first piece/set-up when directed by the Quality Manager.
Assists the Quality Manager in maintaining inspection records and file system, as defined by the quality procedures.
Recommends to her/his manager changes to improve quality (v. gr., methods and tooling).
Maintains a neat, clean, and FOD-free workplace.
Inspects parts, subassemblies, and completed assemblies.
Verifies correctness of documentation and routes material to the next operation or rejects material and prepares a rejection report.
Assists the Quality Manager in gage control, ensuring that all inspection equipment is calibrated and in working condition.
Attends training and other related events as directed by the Quality Manager.
Performs additional duties and functions as directed by the Quality Manager.
