About The Position

This position is responsible for the inspection of Printed Circuit Boards in their final stages. The role involves visual inspection of various types of circuit boards and assemblies, performing physical measurements, and verifying that finishes meet specifications. The inspector will also follow process instructions, work safely, and may be required to cross-train in other departments. Assisting with First Article Inspections (FAIs) and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the role. This position may require overtime, including weekends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read blue print /customer drawings.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 25 lbs. safely.
  • Understand basic IPC specification and understand military/commercial specs.
  • IPC-A-600 Certification.
  • Basic Computer experience - Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States; we are unable to provide sponsorship.
  • Position requires candidate to be a U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).

Nice To Haves

  • Use of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) desired, Optek.
  • 2+ Years PCB experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Visual inspection of printed circuit boards including - backplane, daughter cards, flex circuits, and assemblies.
  • Use of micrometer, Vernier and pin gauges.
  • Use of Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM) desired, Optek.
  • Follow process instructions on work documents such as batch cards, and Inspection Reports.
  • Perform physical measurements such as Bow & Twist, and adhesion testing based on IPC-TM-650.
  • Perform physical and visual inspection of final finishes such as Tin, Gold, Solder, and verify that they meet specifications.
  • Inspection of various product types (flex, rigid-flex, rigid).
  • Work safely to prevent injuries and follow all safety regulations.
  • May be required to cross train in other departments.
  • Ability to assist with and/or complete First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
