About The Position

The Quality Inspector ensures that materials, components, and processes meet established quality standards and specifications. The role involves inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products; documenting results; and working with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues. The inspector reads and interprets blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications, and uses precision inspection tools. The role also supports quality control plans, inspection procedures, standard operating procedures, compliance, corrective actions, and audits. The position requires attention to detail, knowledge of inspection methods, and a commitment to continuous improvement. It includes physical activity such as standing or walking for much of a shift, handling objects, occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds, and wearing required personal protective equipment. Various shifts, including swing, night, and weekend shifts, may be worked. Sundt describes itself as a 100% employee-owned contractor. Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in quality inspection or quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
Basic computer skills and experience with data entry or quality documentation systems.
Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Familiarity with quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001, ACI, ASME, or AWS, as applicable.
High school diploma or GED.
Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
Strong understanding of measurement and test equipment calibration.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or technical certification in a related field.

Responsibilities

Document inspection results and maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company quality policies.
Identify non-conforming materials or products and initiate corrective actions as needed.
Participate in internal and external audits, as required.
Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products for compliance with specifications and standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
