About The Position

This role is responsible for the mechanical and electrical inspection of complex mechanical equipment and/or electrical/electronic apparatus. The inspector will set up and test electronic components for conformity to manufacturing standards, record the type and quantity of defects, and make decisions regarding acceptable quality and the reasons for rejects and their disposition. This position involves working with suppliers and buyers to communicate defect information and corrective action responses, and requires working from complex drawings and specifications. The role also includes responsibility for the review and generation of inspection documents, and the use of a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and testing devices. The position requires minimal supervision and a significant amount of experience to become familiar with inspection principles, procedures, instruments, manufacturing methods, and inspection techniques. The inspector will also perform other duties as designated by their supervisor.

Requirements

  • Vocational or high school graduate required plus a formal accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training in inspection.
  • Must be a sole US citizen.
  • Ten thousand (10,000) hours experience required to become familiar with and understand inspection principles and procedures, to acquire knowledge of inspection instruments and their purpose, manufacturing methods and inspection techniques.
