About The Position

Martin-Baker Inspector B is responsible for inspecting in-house fabric details, fabric assemblies, static / mechanical assemblies and performs applicable tests to verify product conforms to applicable drawings, standards and specifications. Completes all applicable documentation and reports associated with the inspection performed.

Requirements

  • Requires experience and demonstrates proficiency with specialized inspection equipment (pressure tester, coating thickness meter, conductivity meter, hardness tester, etc.) and standard precision measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gages, calipers, dial indicators, etc.).
  • Experience and proficiency must be demonstrated with interpretation of drawings and specifications and general shop math.
  • Must have basic understanding of common manufacturing processes (assembly methods, riveting, fastener installation, torque, plating types, painting, etc.) and basic computer skills.
  • Individuals who have hands-on experience performing dimensional, visual, electrical, and functional inspections on manufactured parts or assemblies.
  • Those who are proficient with tools such as; Micrometers, Calipers, Bore gages, Dial indicators, Pressure testers, Coating thickness meters, and Conductivity or hardness testers
  • Individuals who possess advanced computer skills, that include the ability to accurately document testing data and information for traceability.
  • Individuals who are comfortable reading and interpreting technical documents such as engineering drawings, specifications, military standards, and work instructions.
  • Individuals with knowledge of common manufacturing processes
  • Candidates best suited for this role are those with hands-on quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Inspectors who have worked in the aerospace, automotive, defense, or precision manufacturing
  • High school diploma is required.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to M-B America operating procedures and work instructions at all times.
  • Obtains and interprets the necessary data needed to perform inspections from drawings, specifications, military standards, etc.
  • Selects appropriate inspection equipment necessary to perform specific inspection (Micrometers, Calipers, Bore Gages, Check Fixtures, Pressure Tester, Coating Thickness Meter, etc.)
  • Visually and dimensionally inspects in-house fabric details, fabric assemblies and static / mechanical assemblies to engineering drawing, specifications, standards, work order instructions and purchase order specifications to verify compliance.
  • Performs functional, electrical, proof load, leak, pressure, paint finish tests, etc. as applicable on in-house and fabric assemblies, detail parts and static / mechanical assemblies to engineering drawings, specifications, standards, work order instructions and purchase order specifications to verify compliance.
  • Initiates the required inspection reports (First Article Report, First Piece Report, Nonconforming Material Report, etc.) in the applicable computer database.
