About The Position

The Quality Inspector/Auditor performs a variety of operational functions including the production, inspection, and distribution of products or services. This role adheres to safety policies, the Quality Policy, ISO policies, procedures, and work instructions. The position requires maintaining good housekeeping, positive work ethics, and following procedural instructions for each job. The inspector performs quality assurance checks to ensure work is done in accordance with specifications and meets production standards.

Requirements

  • Education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
  • Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments.
  • Ability to maintain clean work areas and follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Ability to follow work rules, work independently, be flexible and be willing to perform a variety of jobs.
  • Ability to use machinery/equipment required to accomplish a given job assignment.
  • Ability to work effectively, courteously and respectfully with co-workers and other personnel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must wear ear protection in production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform 3-5 plant-wide audit rounds per shift, verifying job/order requirements, first article completion, and checking random parts per operation.
  • Conduct 100% final inspection for assigned lines and support HP/Specialty as needed, verifying drawings/specs/regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain calibration tracker, schedule recalibration, ensure no overdue gages, label gage status, and archive certificates.
  • Maintain audit-ready filing of inspection/audit/calibration/training records, ensuring current revisions are used and obsolete documents are removed.
  • Issue daily/shift summary of findings and verify corrective actions are implemented and effective.
  • Maintain clean, organized lab areas and controlled records, following document control requirements.
  • Participate and contribute on corrective actions.
  • Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
