About The Position

Quality Inspectors are responsible for inspecting questionable (quarantined) products and overseeing operations of the nonconforming material area to ensure parts are properly dispositioned (rework, sort, repack, or deviation etc..). Failure to perform these activities will likely result in dissatisfaction to the internal/external customer. This role requires following established instructions and quality standards, and is responsible for the safety of self, teammates and product from damage and/or injury. The inspector will also perform accurate reporting of production quantities into the MRP system.

Requirements

  • Basic Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel, Word, etc.) skills are required for reporting.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to be Forklift Licensed is required.
  • Ability to read and write documents such as safety rules, production and quality recording and manufacturing work instructions.
  • Regular, reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies.

Nice To Haves

  • An AAS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining if parts meet customer requirements.
  • Perform rework, sorting, repackaging, or gaging as necessary.
  • Create rework instructions and document findings during and after sort.
  • Assist operations team with writing Non-Conformances (NC’s) and Quarantine(s) on suspect products as needed.
  • Manage incoming suspect product to ensure proper MRP transactions (Red Tag, NC, and Quarantine) are completed before allowing parts in nonconforming material area.
  • Assist with containment activities when a quality issue arises (Move suspect product with Hilo, Red Tag, and complete NC and Quarantine).
  • Identify and communicate quality issues as needed.
  • Able to work in a cross-functional and diverse team environment.
  • Ability to help with Gage R&R studies when needed.
  • Complete production tasks (Drive Hilo, Repack Parts, Welding, Help with Banding, etc.), as needed, when and if time allows.
  • Maintain positive team environment to promote safety, quality, employee engagement, and housekeeping.
  • Work safely and actively to support our safety systems.
  • Follow established instructions and quality standards.
  • Responsible for the safety of self, teammates and product from damage and/or injury.
  • Perform accurate reporting of production quantities into MRP system.
