A senior level position making final inspection of a wide variety of parts of complicated form with very close tolerances, sub-assemblies and completed units. Plan inspection procedures and methods; make a variety of gauging set-ups, devise methods of checking unusual parts, determine allowable variations from standard. Make disposition of rejects. Trains and assists less experienced inspectors. Assures products meet quality requirements by conducting receiving inspections, first article inspection; in-process inspection; evaluating finished product by performing the following duties. Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or specifications and confers with management or engineering staff to verify quality and reliability requirements. Selects products for inspection and testing at specified stages in production process; inspect and tests products for attributes and variables such as dimensions, performance, mechanical characteristics, and finish requirement. Documents finished product status by recording and summarizing raw materials, in-process, and finished-product inspection and physical test data, updates quality data base. Performs audits to ensure compliance to QA Manual requirements.
