About The Position

The Quality Inspection Technician II is responsible for performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections of incoming supplier products and internally manufactured aerospace assemblies. This role ensures all inspected items meet drawing requirements, workmanship standards, and Quality Management System (QMS) expectations. The technician accurately documents results using SAP and supports overall product conformity and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a HS Diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of one year of inspection experience, or Minimum of two years of production experience, or Secondary degree.

  • Ability to inspect all assigned products and commodities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems and software.
  • Intermediate experience in preparing and/or reviewing routine First Article Inspections (FAIs).
  • Inspect and measure required product design, manufacturing, and quality characteristics.
  • Interpret and verify products per applicable industry specifications.
  • Ability to interface with multiple functions and departments.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)

Responsibilities

  • Perform the receiving and production inspections of various products and commodities.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language effectively.
  • Conduct product inspection tasks according to Inspection Procedures.
  • Inspect special process parts and document inspection activities on appropriate records.
  • Record inspection results via SAP transactions.
  • Make informed decisions regarding product acceptance based on design documentation and company workmanship criteria.
  • Document non-conformances of products or paperwork as per company procedures.
  • Support internal and customer audits.
  • Prioritize product inspections according to the production schedule.
  • Understand and interpret design data, such as drawings and Bills of Material.
  • Use appropriate inspection methods and equipment, including hand tools and surface plates.
  • Support multiple product lines and/or commodities as needed.
  • Answer quality and inspection-related questions.
  • Maintain relevant skills, knowledge, and certifications.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required (e.g., ACE initiatives).
  • Create and update Inspection Procedures.
  • Complete training and issue FAA 8130 Tags if required.
  • Adhere to QMS policies, understand quality documents, and access them as necessary.
