About The Position

The Level C Production Inspection Technician supports Quality Engineers in ensuring products and services meet company standards and customer requirements. The role performs production inspections and First Article Inspections on electromechanical, panel, and module assemblies; assists with analyzing and resolving product conformance issues; and contributes to quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts. The position also supports team development by mentoring new hires and providing guidance to inspectors as needed.

The role includes interpreting manufacturing drawings, specifications, and lists; supporting quality planning and documentation; conducting First Article Inspections to AS 9102C requirements; assisting with audits and inspector training; and evaluating defect data to identify trends and recommend process improvements. The position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and follows a weekend shift schedule of 12-hour days, three days per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; or a post-secondary/associate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results.
• Previous experience with visual inspections.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Experience conducting Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Basic knowledge of IPC-610 and IPC-620 standards.
• Basic knowledge of the AS9100 standard.
• Experience or exposure to aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Support Quality Engineers in analyzing and resolving product conformance problems.
• Perform inspections on electromechanical assemblies and panel/module assemblies.
• Assist in interpreting manufacturing drawings, specifications, and lists to approve or reject units.
• Assist with quality planning, including preparing control plans, instructions, procedures, and quality records.
• Conduct and prepare First Article Inspections to AS 9102C requirements.
• Support inspector training and assist with product and manufacturing process audits.
• Assist in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborate with Quality Engineers on process improvement recommendations.
• Help develop basic tools for quality planning, verification, and analytical processes.
• Support kaizen events, summarize outcomes, and make recommendations to management based on sound decision factors and business principles.
• Assist in developing and maintaining procedures and work instructions relevant to the quality organization.
• Mentor new hires and provide guidance to inspectors as needed.
