About The Position

The Quality Inspection Supervisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe working environment, developing and planning inspections to ensure quality products are produced on time, and implementing processes to improve inspection consistency and accuracy. This role involves communicating company policies, driving continuous improvement using methodologies like DMAIC or PDCA, and recommending enhancements to production methods and equipment. The supervisor will also establish maintenance requirements, assess employee performance, provide coaching and training, manage productivity and resources, and maintain effective interdepartmental communication. Key responsibilities include ensuring ISO9001:2008 and ISO13485:2003 compliance, as well as OSHA safety compliance. The role requires a team player who performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of progressive operational and management experience in the Quality and Inspection function.
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Proven track record in the management of quality assurance and inspection
  • Ability to speak read and write English fluently
  • Clear diction, correct grammar and acute haring are necessary for effective communication with clients, vendors, management, and other employees
  • Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to effectively use computer screens, read reports and responding to correspondence and emails

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain safe working environment
  • Develop and plan inspections by setting priority and assigning appropriate skill level to produce a quality product in spec and on time
  • Implement processes to improve ability to inspect product, with consistent and appropriate results in relation to requirements
  • Communicate and implement company policies, procedures, and objectives. Facilitate the flow of fact-based information
  • Continuous improvement activity using the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control (DMAIC) methodology or Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
  • Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions
  • Establish maintenance requirements for equipment and facility in conjunction with Engineering and Maintenance personnel. Ensure timely maintenance is performed and proper records are maintained
  • Assess employee performance, provide frequent constructive feedback to employees, and conduct performance reviews. Implement corrective and disciplinary action as warranted
  • Identify and implement necessary personnel coaching, training and development to upgrade and maintain employee skill levels to keep pace with current and future company requirements.
  • Measure and manage productivity and the allocation of resources, including the control of overtime and hiring of personnel
  • Review inspection procedures to ensure optimum output from resources, employee relations
  • Maintain effective interface with other operations supervisors and other departments (i.e., Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service) to optimize production and process improvement activity
  • Work to continuously improve in all areas such as safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction
  • ISO9001:2008 and ISO13485:2003 certification and compliance
