About The Position

Delta Technologies is seeking an experienced Quality Inspection Specialist to perform assigned scanning tasks and conformance requests using various metrology techniques and tools, including Laser 3D Scanning Machine and Software. This role involves ensuring dimensional conformance for mold layouts and special requests, overseeing the maintenance and calibration of quality gages, developing and maintaining the quality assurance system, and ensuring the workspace is 6S compliant. The specialist will also participate in cross-functional teams, report non-conforming items, and cooperate with environmental action team directives. Key responsibilities include scanning and verifying molds and components, and performing reverse engineering for various projects. Regular attendance and compliance with Delta Safety Policies and Procedures are essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD models, surface geometry, and wireframe.
  • Understand GD&T symbols and functions.
  • Basic metrology techniques (using instruments).
  • Verisurf or other electronic software experience for receiving part information.
  • Laser scanning of any brand hardware (API, Faro, Romer, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements for gage maintenance and calibration.
  • Basic statistical techniques.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements regarding statistical capability requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of Molds and Mold Components.
  • Basic knowledge of Machining, EDM, and Mold Assembly.
  • Oral, written and communication skills.
  • Customer liaison skills.
  • Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Dimensional conformance for Mold layouts and various special requests.
  • Oversee maintenance and calibration of all quality gages.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance system.
  • Assure the workspace is 6S compliant.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Report any non-conforming items identified.
  • Cooperation with action team directives. Familiar with evacuation plans. Familiar with environmental plant postings.
  • Scanning and verifying all assigned Molds and Components.
  • Reverse Engineering abilities for direct and indirect projects.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Must comply with all Delta Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
