About The Position

Delta Technologies is seeking an experienced Quality Inspection Specialist to perform assigned scanning tasks and conformance requests, using various metrology techniques and tools including Laser 3D Scanning Machine and Software. This role involves ensuring dimensional conformance for mold layouts and various special requests, overseeing the maintenance and calibration of quality gages, and developing and maintaining the quality assurance system. The specialist will also ensure the workspace is 6S compliant, participate in cross-functional teams, and report any non-conforming items identified. Environmental responsibilities include cooperation with action team directives, familiarity with evacuation plans, and plant postings. The role also includes scanning and verifying assigned molds and components, and reverse engineering abilities for projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, CAD models, surface geometry, and wireframe.
  • Understand GD&T symbols and functions.
  • Basic metrology techniques (using instruments).
  • Verisurf or other electronic software experience for receiving part information.
  • Experience with Laser scanning of any brand hardware (API, Faro, Romer, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements for gage maintenance and calibration.
  • Basic statistical techniques.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements regarding statistical capability requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of Molds and Mold Components.
  • Basic knowledge of Machining, EDM, and Mold Assembly.
  • Oral, written and communication skills.
  • Customer liaison skills.
  • Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Scan and verify all assigned Molds and Components.
  • Utilize Reverse Engineering abilities for direct and indirect projects.
