About The Position

This full-time role focuses on managing performance measurement and improvement activities to enhance patient care and safety. The position involves abstracting medical records for performance data, developing and implementing improvement strategies, and conducting reviews within specified timeframes. The role also includes participating in nursing research, collecting data for accreditation and regulatory studies, and working independently on assigned projects. Additionally, the position assists in identifying staff educational needs and communicating identified issues to appropriate leaders.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse
  • Experience in performance measurement and improvement
  • Ability to accurately abstract medical records
  • Knowledge of core measures, infection control, and patient safety
  • Skills in developing and implementing strategies
  • Ability to complete reviews in a timely manner
  • Experience in nursing research
  • Ability to collect concurrent and retrospective data
  • Proficiency in working independently with initiative, judgment, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to identify and communicate staff educational needs

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of performance measurement and improvement activities designed to improve patient care and patient safety.
  • Responsible for accurately abstracting the medical records to collect performance data relating to, but not limited to requirement elements of performance, core measures, infection control, patient safety, and demographic and social equity of care.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategies aimed at improving performance.
  • Complete reviews in the appropriate time frames.
  • Participates in nursing research activities as requested.
  • Collects concurrent and retrospective data in support of various accreditation and regulatory required studies/initiatives.
  • Works independently on assigned projects utilizing a high level or initiative, judgement and critical thinking skills.
  • Assist with the identification and communication of staff educational needs, appropriate leaders or departments of identified issues.
  • Performs other job duties as needed.
