About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Quality, the Quality improvement coordinator position is responsible for coordinating quality management efforts including development, implementation, education, data collection, and analysis. This job description is intended to identify some of the primary duties and responsibilities. Mayers Memorial Hospital District reserves the right to modify, supplement, delete or augment the duties and responsibilities specified in this position description, at MAYERS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL DISTRICT’S sole and absolute discretion.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (word, excel, power point)
  • Strong clinical background and knowledge base required.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles, practices, methods, and tools.
  • Knowledge of computer applications related to QI, including spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of medical records and clinical care processes.
  • Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and professional.
  • Completes annual education requirements if applicable.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Wears identification while on duty.
  • Attends annual evaluation and participates actively in this process.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.
  • Attends all meetings as appropriate.
  • Exhibits the mission, ethics, and goals of Mayers Memorial Hospital District in the performance of job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative and operational support to the Director of Quality (DOQ) in the implementation and maintenance of the district-wide Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program, including State and managed care Quality Improvement Programs (QIP) and ACHC accreditation activities.
  • Assists with coordinating quality improvement initiatives by scheduling meetings, maintaining documentation, tracking action items, and communicating with internal stakeholders.
  • Supports quality monitoring activities by collecting, organizing, and maintaining quality-related data and documentation to help ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Assists with medical record reviews, audits, and other quality monitoring activities to support the evaluation of documentation and quality of care.
  • Compiles data and assists in preparing quality reports, dashboards, and the annual Quality Improvement (QI) report.
  • Coordinates the collection and organization of data and supporting documentation required for ACHC accreditation, regulatory reporting, managed care requirements, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Assists in tracking quality indicators, variances, corrective action plans, and performance improvement activities, escalating concerns to the Director of Quality as appropriate.
  • Maintains quality records, databases, policies, and other departmental documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness for audits and surveys.
  • Assists with onboarding and education by coordinating quality-related training materials, resources, and documentation for new employees.
  • Performs other quality improvement support duties as assigned to assist the Director of Quality and the organization's quality management program.
  • Ability to educate staff in both verbal and written form about QI in formal and informal settings.
