About The Position

The Quality Improvement Coordinator responsibilities include the coordination, facilitation and management of the organizational process improvement projects. This position will serve as a resource for performance improvement teams to help develop goals and action plans and assist with developing reporting strategies. The intent of this position is to enhance efficiency and quality to improve organizational outcomes and provide support for regulatory compliance and readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • 4-6 years of related experience required
  • Active Indiana or multi-state Registered Nurse license required
  • BLS certification required
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Lean Six Sigma or other related certification required

Responsibilities

  • Leads or assists with facilitating Performance Improvement (PI) Teams; will predominantly be organizational wide PI teams but could include participation on departmental PI teams.
  • Assists leaders with developing achievable benchmarks for data related to the PI team initiatives.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance, survey preparedness, and accreditation surveys.
  • Maintains knowledge on accreditation standards and conditions of participation.
  • Assists and educates leaders and others within the organization on standard interpretation as directed.
  • Compiles documents and other required information for the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement chapter and other accrediting body chapters as directed.
  • Actively participates in onsite surveys, including but not limited to meeting with surveyors, assisting with tours, and assisting leaders with their onsite survey experience.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for hospital patient experience programs and patient experience data.
  • Maintains current knowledge of CAHPS regulations, reporting requirements, and vendor updates related to patient experience.
  • Acts as the primary liaison with patient experience vendors and collaborates with hospital leaders, staff, and external stakeholders to support and advance advisory council activities and PI initiatives focused on enhancing the patient experience.
  • Completes patient-level clinical data chart reviews as directed.
  • Works with multidisciplinary teams to retrieve needed data.
  • Reports findings to hospital committees and providers as directed.
  • Provides follow-up to committees and providers on any additional data requested.
  • Performs data abstraction and auditing for assigned organizational indicators.
  • Maintains knowledge regarding changes in regulations related to quality metrics, including but not limited to; reviewing webinars, reading materials that impact reporting requirements, and participating in collaborative learning sessions.
  • Actively participates in the Hospital based quality committee with gathering documentation, reporting, and any other assigned follow up from the meeting.
  • Leads the implementation of annual safety surveys for the organization.
  • Maintains knowledge of participation requirements and submission of safety survey data.
  • Abstracts and analyzes survey results.
  • Works with leaders within the organization on action plans and improvement efforts for safety surveys.
