About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Quality Improvement and Education, the Quality Improvement Analyst is responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of the Comprehensive Quality Management Program (QMP) and while providing analytical support for various Quality Improvement activities. The Quality Improvement Analyst provides general oversight and maintenance of the organization’s system-wide measurement system, performing data analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing projects to drive improvement. They promote a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the organization by attending staff/manager meetings to train/coach quality improvement strategies and assist in managing change with new/revised processes. They also collaborate with the Professional Development Department staff in employee orientation activities, in-service education opportunities, and on-the-job training for field staff to ensure that staff understands basic Quality Improvement concepts and the use of process improvement tools.

Requirements

  • RN License
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Quality Management required.
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required in nursing and/or business-related field.

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general oversight and maintenance of the organization’s system-wide measurement system.
  • Performs data analysis, identifies opportunities for improvement, and implements projects to drive improvement.
  • Reviews quality indicators/measurements data for patterns or trends that may indicate a quality concern (including patient occurrences, complaints, and grievances).
  • Participates in statistical analysis, interpretation, and monitoring of clinical data.
  • Analyzes, interprets, and organizes various types of data into meaningful reports, graphs and/or summaries for various uses including decision making and trending.
  • Initiates investigations and analysis of patient occurrences as indicated and coordinates appropriate follow up activities for potential quality issues.
  • Oversees the design and implementation of organizational wide performance improvement activities as indicated from data analysis.
  • Works with the Project Management Office and Business Intelligence on organizational strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the organization by attending staff/manager meetings to train/coach quality improvement strategies and assist in managing change with new/revised processes.
  • Identifies concerns for review to improve processes and works with the process “owner” to establish timelines and carry out the performance improvement project (PIP).
  • Assists the process owner as a clinical and administrative resource in the development, and implementation of organizational PIPs, including but not limited to: Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, developing an Action Plan to achieve desired outcomes, and monitoring for improvement.
  • Maintains knowledge and complies with State and Federal regulations and/or accreditation standards, (as applicable).
  • Maintains reports and related documents regarding PIP activities.
  • Designs and develops regular status update reports of the PIP activities.
  • Prepares summary reports for presentation to various Compliance and Quality Committees and assists with Board Reports and other required reporting.
  • Serves as facilitator to review pertinent policies as they relate to identified quality issues.
  • Facilitates the development, review, and revision of organizational processes and policies related to the performance improvement activity being conducted.
