About The Position

Provides analysis, facilitation, and coaching on projects to improve clinical outcomes, quality, and patient safety. Assists leaders in the development, implementation, and monitoring of key performance measures for identified improvement projects. Collaborates with leaders in implementing and reviewing measures of effectiveness from cause analysis action plans. Partners with leadership across the organization to education/train, communicate, standardize, and sustain the implementation of process improvement and safety principles. Coaches staff on the continued use of improvement tools, including the error prevention tools, run charts, pareto charts, Issue Investigation Tool, and Learning from Defects Tool for patient safety. Participates on key projects to identify improvement opportunities and conducts research as needed in order to make appropriate recommendations. Performs statistical analysis of data compiled from various sources; prepares reports and makes recommendations based on findings. Identifies trends/patterns, causes for variation, and opportunities for improvement. May coordinate data compilation and validation of information for regulatory projects as directed. Serves as expert and resource for improvement teams in regards to strategies, plans, and tools. Helps design and facilitate programs, meetings, and education on improvement. Collaborates extensively with providers and clinical team members to improve quality and completeness of documentation. Educates stakeholders on defined quality measures and best practices including documentation standards. Compiles and analyzes information for peer review for areas as assigned. Maintains awareness of current trends, practice changes, and research findings related to performance measures. Collects and performs statistical analysis interpretation, and dissemination of data related to performance measures. Serves as the data administrator for assigned databases and utilizes the databases as a resource for benchmarking to drive improvement. Collaborates with leaders in assigned areas to assess practice, collect data, coach team members, and build relationships.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or a healthcare related field as determined by the organization required upon hire
  • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • RN – If Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Nursing, licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the state of Kentucky required upon hire.
  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider preferred
  • CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality through National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) preferred
