About The Position

Works with clinical, site level quality and other appropriate staff to assist with timely and accurate clinical data submission and developing strategies and corrective actions to enhance continuous compliance with measures. Works collaboratively with the medical and hospital staff to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the care of sepsis and stroke patients. Collaborates with the Sepsis and Stroke Program Manager and performance improvement teams to improve provider documentation related to Sepsis and Stroke criteria, and core measure abstraction. Stays abreast of all new requirements and/or clinical information regarding Sepsis and Stroke. Regularly review the Sepsis and Stroke core measure requirements and communicate any changes in requirements to appropriate committees.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited College or University in Nursing required.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting required.
  • 3 years of progressive clinical experience in neurological nursing and RN Licensure
  • ACLS and BLS (AHA) required.
  • CPI is required either within 30 days or the next full class if after 30 days.
  • Previous experience in case review, quality management, chart audits and/or implementing actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of the goals of the Center of Excellence (COE) programs (Stroke & Sepsis).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders to obtain management, staff, and physician involvement and accountability in achieving specific outcomes.
  • Ability to simultaneously address and prioritize multiple projects, demands and issues.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, advanced analytical skills, be well organized, and maintain a highly professional manner and appearance.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, assertiveness, and goal-attaining capabilities.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • Previous experience in Quality Management or Performance Improvement preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, preferred.
