In this context we are looking for a Quality Excellence and Conformance Manager to join our Quality Team in Dulles, Va.

Requirements

  • Equipped with a degree in Aviation Business (or similar) paired with 5 years of experience in a production, maintenance or airline environment as a Quality Inspector, Conformance Manager (or a comparable role).
  • Aircraft Systems or AerospaceEngineering Structure, including CFRP, and aging aircraft requirements
  • Experience with AI tools and Skywise or other analytical systems
  • Expert-level ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with AOS standards or similar Lean/Six Sigma operating systems.
  • Experience working with the aviation related regulations from EASA, FAA and TCCA including the QMS familiarity with AS/EN 9100 and AS/EN9120 standards
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS) AS9100D / ISO 9001 framework.

  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to multi-task effectively.
  • Language: Communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Operations (20%): Using existing aerospace knowledge and expertise to inspect varieties of finished articles to ensure conformance with FAA/EASA/TCCA Part 21 specifications and established quality standards, including customer requirements
  • Issue Discrepancy Reports and Unserviceable Tags on non-conforming material.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer complaints and follow up with the Customer Service team to ensure correct handling and closure of the claim
  • Assist in the resolution of supplier non-conformities and follow up with the Supply Chain team and the suppliers to ensure correct handling and closure of the supplier discrepancies
  • Root Cause Analysis (25%): Lead Multifunctional Teams: Drive collaborative efforts to perform deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on operational challenges.
  • Continuous Improvement: Design and execute strategic "clean-up" initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce waste.
  • Backlog Management: Support the operational "drumbeat," working closely with technical experts to resolve blocking challenges and keep projects on track.
  • Data Analysis & Executive Reporting (25%): Non-Conformity Oversight: Perform regular, detailed analysis of incoming and outgoing non-conformities to identify trends and risks.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain regular reporting for the Quality Organization based on defined KPIs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with the Central Performance Management team to ensure alignment between departmental output and upper management goals.
  • Innovation & Digital Strategy (20%): AI & Robotics Integration: Act as the primary driver for adopting Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to enhance the Goods Receipt (GR) and overall Quality processes.
  • Standardization: Drive the implementation of AOS (Airbus Operating System) standards, including tools like Polypoly, standard agendas, and visual management systems.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned (10%)
