About The Position

The Assistant Vice President for Ambulatory Clinical Excellence and Quality (“AVP”) is a key member of the Quality leadership team with shared accountability for the organization's success. This role is responsible for developing and advancing a comprehensive, system-wide strategy for ambulatory quality, patient safety, clinical excellence, and performance improvement across all ambulatory settings, including primary care, specialty care, urgent care, and other outpatient services. The AVP leads a portfolio that includes ambulatory quality and safety, performance improvement, provider education, and medical quality programs, with a focus on reducing harm, improving clinical outcomes, enhancing physician engagement, and driving high reliability in the ambulatory environment. The AVP serves as a subject matter expert, thought leader, and strategic partner, collaborating with System, hospital, and physician and administrative leadership to develop and execute enterprise strategies that enhance quality of care, reduce clinical risk, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The AVP has wide authority and relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in quality/patient safety or related initiatives
  • 10+ years of pediatric clinical experience
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or DO from an accredited institution is required.
  • Active Texas Medical License
