About The Position

CGI is looking for a QA Engineering Lead-Automation. For this role on this particular client engagement, employer sponsorship of immigration-related visa and/or green card status as part of the PERM process will not be available. The candidate must have an agile mindset and be an expert in the Scaled Agile delivery model, experienced with agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, spring planning, sprint reviews, and sprint demos. The role involves designing and developing high-quality automated UI and API tests for web applications, leading QE initiatives, managing resources (both onshore and offshore), and driving initiatives independently. The position requires designing and building industry-standard test automation solutions and scripts, performing in-sprint manual and automation testing in an agile setting, and developing and managing software test plans and traceability. High-quality regression test plans for applications under validation need to be written. The role also includes providing manual and automation testing estimates during the discovery and sprint planning phases of the development lifecycle, investigating automated & manual test failures to ensure application correctness, and updating automated UI/API test scripts as needed. Replicating production defects in lower environments, logging defects in the defect management system for resolution, and providing issue walkthroughs to developers or software engineers are also key responsibilities. Collaboration with the DevOps team to set up quality gates and execute automated tests in the delivery pipeline is expected. Automating repetitive validation tasks in browser-based/API-based test automation products, reporting testing results/metrics to the QA manager and other project stakeholders, and partnering with product teams to design and develop acceptance criteria and BDD tests are also part of the role. The position requires reporting progress, test metrics, and results to project stakeholders and performing all activities involved in the software testing lifecycle. Highly effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in Quality engineering.
Over 5+ years of experience working as a quality engineer in an Agile team.
Have experience in leading a small to large QE team (both onshore and offshore), drive initiatives independently.
5+ years of test automation experience using Selenium and Cucumber.
2+ years of experience in Playwright.
4+ years of experience in Data Testing involving ETL.
4+ years of experience writing SQL scripts.
Experience in managing code repositories and versions using Azure DevOps, GIT or SVN.
Experience developing API tests using Karate framework.
Experience developing tests using BDD frameworks.
4+ years of experience developing, maintaining & executing automated regression tests for web and backend applications.
Good understanding of Agile project management/ DevOps tools.
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
