About The Position

RTX is hiring a Quality Engineering Intern to support Mission Systems Ejection Seating in Colorado Springs. The internship is onsite and focuses on quality support for aerospace and defense manufacturing. The intern will assist with inspection tooling and work instructions, defect reduction, root cause analysis, corrective actions, PFMEA activities, process improvement, and production shelf-life and Layered Process Audit programs. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a relevant bachelor's degree program and remain enrolled for the duration of the internship. U.S. citizenship is required to access program/contract information.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Quality, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, and will remain enrolled for the duration of the internship.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Experience communicating effectively across teams and platforms to collaborate on projects and achieve goals.
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D modeling, and 2D print creation and interpretation.

Responsibilities

Assist in creating inspection tooling and inspection work instructions.
Reduce defects and escapes through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Support Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities.
Implement process improvements using continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
Support the production shelf-life program and the Layered Process Audit (LPA) program.
